Centre Court was opened in 1922 when The All England Lawn Tennis Club moved from Worple Road to its current grounds at Church Road. It has undergone major re-development work which includes a larger 15,000 capacity, more comfortable seats , new restaurants and bars and a retractable roof .
These have provided Centre Court Debenture Holders with a substantial upgrade and expansion to their facilities, and a completely new east wing. As well as nearly doubling the space currently available, a waitress service restaurant and improved bar facilities have been provided.
Centre Court Seating

Retractable Roof
- Modern, lightweight and translucent retractable structure which will complement the original 1920's Centre Court building
- Provides first class and consistent playing environment in all weathers. Environmental control will provide spectator comfort and optimum conditions for play when the roof is closed.
- Fewer interruptions to play on Centre Court and completion of the main Championship events on time.
More Restaurants, Better Restaurants
- Enhanced and extended dining and lounge areas for Centre Court Debenture Holders
- Upgraded and more extensive public restaurants
- 'Al Fresco' dining indoors and outdoors on canopied balconies.
- New Tea Lawn refreshment outlets including a Cafe which will be open throughout the year for visitors to the adjacent Museum

- Enhanced light refreshment areas and a new 'Wimbledon Shop'
- Trees and planting to soften the environment

CENTRE COURT DEBENTURES
The Centre Court debentures come in series of 2,500 and cover a period of five years. Each Debenture Holder automatically receives one Centre Court ticket for every day of The Championships during the relevant period. Debenture Holders also receive a pass to the Centre Court Debenture area and have the right to enter a ballot for a car parking space (available for an additional fee).
